A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
